What exactly does our sleeping carer do?
Our sleeping carers are available in case they are needed, but they are not expected to be attentive and vigilant at all times.
A sleeping carer can help your loved one maintain their dignity while minimising suffering.
This form of care can increase your loved one’s confidence and allow them to live freely in their own home for a longer period of time. It can also provide you with priceless peace of mind.
Our sleeping carer will need their own room, and it is preferable if that room is close to your loved one’s room. They will also require access to toilet facilities, which may be for general use rather than the carer’s private use.
What does our waking carer do?
If your loved one needs waking care, the carer can either carry out home duties while remaining available to your loved one at all times or sit in the room with your loved one and offer support if required.
Sitting in is especially beneficial if your loved one is recuperating from an accident and needs help shifting positions during the night or if they require medicine at specified times.
If your loved one is prone to nighttime discomfort or wandering due to dementia or a similar illness, the second form of overnight care may be perfect. A carer will be there at all times and will be able to see any unusual behaviour.
